I’m Nobubele Nzima, a social entrepreneur, agri-business leader, and community advocate from Mthatha in the Eastern Cape, South Africa. I am the founder and director of Bellarosa WIP Productions (Pty) Ltd, a poultry farming and agribusiness enterprise I started in March 2020, shortly after leaving a corporate retail career and returning home to pursue my passion for sustainable food production and economic upliftment.
My business focuses on poultry — from layers and broilers to egg production — and extends into training and mentorship for aspiring farmers. I believe in creating opportunities that go beyond production: job creation, skills transfer, and empowering youth, women, and people with disabilities are core to how I lead and grow my enterprise.
I hold a BCom Honours in Business Management from Nelson Mandela University, and I’ve learnt so much through hands-on experience, self-directed study, and real-world challenges in the agricultural sector. I’m constantly learning, adapting, and pushing the boundaries of what’s possible in rural enterprise development.
Over the years, I’ve been honoured to receive multiple recognitions for my work, including:
• Winner — Iwisa No.1 Community Champions Competition (Eastern Cape) — which included R30 000 and business development support.
• Best Smallholder Farmer — Women Entrepreneur Awards hosted by the Department of Rural and Agrarian Reform.
• News24 100 Young Mandelas (Social Justice) finalist — recognised for community impact and entrepreneurship.
• Nestlé Bar-One “It Starts With You” national hero.
Beyond agriculture, I am deeply committed to social justice and gender-based violence advocacy. I serve as a GBV and femicide ambassador for the OR Tambo District, working through public speaking, community engagement, and grassroots activism to effect positive change.
I also co-lead Future Builders Foundation (FBF), a non-profit organisation focused on youth development and community transformation.
My vision is simple yet ambitious: to transform rural economies by unlocking the potential of every person I meet — through entrepreneurship, dignity, and opportunity.
